It looks, the next Windows 10 feature update would bring faster ways for users to connect their Bluetooth-enabled devices. Spotted by Thurrott in Windows 10 Preview Build 17046, Microsoft is working on a Windows 10 Bluetooth feature called Quick Pair.

Quick Pair would allow users to jump the tedious process of searching for Bluetooth devices and pressing buttons on peripherals in order to connect them.

You might have seen the Google-made feature called Android Fast Pair that uses Bluetooth LE and classic Bluetooth. When a compatible device, for example, Pixel headphones, is placed in close proximity, the user has to tap a toast notification on their screen and pairing gets get done. Also, that’s how Apple AirPods connect.

Microsoft’s Quick Pair is expected to work in a similar manner. Since it’s only a part of an Insider Build, there isn’t much to be said — whether the company will keep it limited to their Surface and Xbox peripherals or it will be compatible with all kinds of Bluetooth devices or if they’ll release the feature with the final Redstone 4 Build.
